InInternational Scientific Conference Defense Technology Forum 2024
In the period 21-22 November 2024, the Faculty of Artillery, Air Defense and CIS Faculty, Shumen from “Vasil Levski” National Military University, Bulgaria, in partnership with the Military Technical Academy “Ferdinand I” of Bucharest, Romania, organised in Shumen, the International Scientific Conference Defense Technology Forum 2024.
The collaboration between the two institutions started 10 years ago, when, for the first time, MTA became an official partner of the International Scientific Conference Defence Technology Forum in 2015. Due to this cooperation, a lot of significant results were achieved, such as the strategic partnership projects concerning the European Common Technical Semester for Defence and Security – EuCTSds, Digital Competences for Improving Security and Defense Education (DIGICODE) and the new one, Digital Mathematics Applied in Defence and Security Education (DIMAS), in the frame of the Erasmus+ programme and of the Military Erasmus initiative.
In the opening, the vice-rector for interuniversity relations (Col. (AF) Prof. Eng. Cristian-Emil MOLDOVEANU, PhD) addressed a message on behalf of the MTA’s academic community and management team. The two articles presented in the plenary meeting by the MTA’s representatives: Experimental and numerical study of high-velocity impacts on ballistic protection configurations (Maj. Assoc.Prof. Eng. Florina BUCUR, PhD), Experimental study on the dynamic behaviour of low-sensitivity propellant grains with the split Hopkinson pressure bar (1Lt.Eng. Răzvan MIRCIOAGĂ) were very well appreciated by the participants.
At the conference, more than 80 specialists from Bulgaria, Croatia, Croatia, Italy, Latvia, Poland, Romania and Slovakia presented their scientific research results in 6 panels: Defense and Security; Weapons, Technologies, Logistics; Communication and Computer Technologies; Cybersecurity; Geodesy and Social studies. An exhibition of weapon systems and defence technology was organised on this occasion, supported by the Bulgarian defence industry.
