2024.11.18-20 The 64th IG Meeting of Military Erasmus – Shumen, Bulgaria

64th IG Meeting of the Implementation Group of the European Initiative for the Exchange of Young Officers inspired by Erasmus 

In the period 18-20 November 2024, the Faculty of Artillery, Air Defence and CIS from Shumen within the Bulgarian „Vasil Levki” National Military University organised the 64th IG Meeting of the Implementation Group of the European Initiative for the Exchange of Young Officers inspired by Erasmus (Military Erasmus – Emilyo), under the auspices of the European Security and Defence College.

The Military Technical Academy “Ferdinand I” of Bucharest (Academia Tehnică Militară “Ferdinand I”- www.mta.ro) was represented by Col (AF) Prof. Eng. Cristian-Emil MOLDOVEANU, PhD (vice-rector for interuniversity relations), Col. Eng. Alin-Constantin SAVA, PhD (Erasmus+ Institutional Coordinator), Col. Prof. Eng. Liviu MATACHE, PhD (vice-dean for international relations within the Faculty of Integrated Weapon Systems, Military Engineering and Mechatronics) and Cpt. Assoc.Prof. Eng. Andrada-Livia CÎRNEANU, PhD (MTA responsible for the Erasmus+ KA2 Project Digital Mathematics Applied in Defence and Security Education – DIMAS ).

More than 90 representatives of the European military academies participated in the activity. Within this IG Meeting many subjects were connected to improving the internationalisation of military higher education, including the offers of international mobilities (common modules, international semesters, Blended Intensive Programmes, etc.).

With this occasion were presented 2 international activities proposed by RO MTA for 2025: the International Technical Semester 2025 (17.02 – 21.06.2025 ) and the Students’ International Conference CERC 2025 (11-12 April 2025). The representatives of MTA participated in and coordinated 2 lines of development meetings: LoD-09 (Future Projects) and LoD-13 (Science and Technology Education).

This activity was a success and, among many other subjects, aimed to discuss and prepare many international activities for the Erasmus+ mobilities of cadets and teachers from and within the European military academies.
