Military Technical Academy “Ferdinand I” has become part of the prestigious network of the European Security and Defence College in July 2020. The European Security and Defence College (ESDC) was created as a networking college and therefore relies on authorized national entities. The ESDC is currently composed of more than 160 national training and education institutions with different areas of expertise and basics. The ESDC is an EU body embedded in the External Action Service (EEAS) of the European Union (EU) that provides training and education at EU level in the field of the Common Security and Defence Policy (CSDP), which is part of the EU’s Common Foreign and Security Policy (CFSP).
The new quality of the Military Technical Academy “Ferdinand I” (MTA) as the institution member of ESDC, represents a very important success of the international and inter-university relations of the MTA and was possible with the involvement of the entire academic community. In the process of analyzing of the application, the Steering Committee and the Executive Academic Board of ESDC appreciated the degree of active involvement of MTA representatives in the working groups of the Military Erasmus Initiative and Doctoral School on CSDP, as well as the international recognition of the military technical scientific education and research quality carried out within the institution.
